Agenda:

5:30pm - 6:00pm Eat, mingle, network

6:00pm - 6:15pm Business and Introductions

6:15pm - 7:15pm  Smarter Design — Top-Down Assemblies & Multibody Modeling

Whether you’re building robotics, furniture, or any weekend passion project, SOLIDWORKS has some powerful methodologies to help you design smarter. This session dives into how makers can use top-down assembly techniques and multibody part workflows to keep complex builds flexible, and easy to update when inspiration strikes (or reality intervenes).

You’ll learn:

  • How to drive multiple parts from a single master part, sketch, or assembly for quick, parametric updates

  • Techniques for creating full assemblies inside one part file using multibody methods

  • When to choose top-down vs. multibody

  • Practical examples pulled from real-world builds

Perfect for anyone who wants cleaner models and faster revisions.

Jay Pinheiro, Senior Customer Support Engineer at GoEngineer

  7:15pm - 7:30pm Break & Networking

  7:30pm - 8:30pm Combining Sub-D Surfacing and Parametric Modeling

Get the best of both worlds: high-end subdivision surfacing combined with parametric design. This session will provide an overview and a demonstration of how to create highly stylized, ergonomically shaped designs quickly. In addition, recommended techniques for combining subdivision modeling with traditional parametric modeling will be presented. You'll even learn how to figure our how much your model will cost to make! See how your existing SOLIDWORKS models can power fast quotes for you or your sales team.
