Catalunya SOLIDWORKS User Group
Following our PLM Fundamentals for Automotive Engineering session, the SOLIDWORKS User Group Catalunya is opening a second live expert session of the Computer-Aided Design and Analysis course within the Master’s Degree in Automotive Engineering to the wider SOLIDWORKS community.
This special hybrid workshop will once again be delivered by Dino Pečenjev, Application Engineer at Strojotehnika d.o.o., SOLIDWORKS Elite Applications Engineer Award recipient and member of the SOLIDWORKS Champions community.
Understanding PLM concepts is only the first step. The real value comes from applying them to the development and evolution of an engineering product.
During this hands-on session, Dino will use the SAE Mini Baja project as an automotive engineering case study to demonstrate how Product Lifecycle Management principles can be applied within a SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE-based engineering environment.
Participants will explore how product structures, engineering items, revisions, lifecycle states and engineering changes are managed as a product evolves through its development process.
Creating Product Structures
Managing Engineering Items
Revision Management
Change Actions
Lifecycle Management
Collaborative Engineering
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
Create and manage an engineering product structure.
Organize and manage Engineering Items within a PLM environment.
Control product revisions and understand their role in engineering development.
Apply Change Actions to controlled engineering modifications.
Manage product maturity through lifecycle states.
Understand collaborative engineering workflows using the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.
Manage a complete engineering product structure using fundamental PLM principles.
The SAE Mini Baja project provides the ideal framework for connecting PLM concepts with a real product development workflow.
Rather than treating Product Lifecycle Management as an isolated data-management activity, this workshop will show how PLM supports the evolution of an automotive product from its engineering definition through revisions, controlled changes and collaborative development.
The session will connect:
SOLIDWORKS CAD → Engineering Items → Product Structure → Revisions → Change Actions → Lifecycle Management → Collaborative Engineering
This is not a standalone webinar. Participants will be joining a real live workshop of the Master’s Degree in Automotive Engineering, together with the students enrolled in the course.
The objective is to create a direct connection between academic engineering education, industrial practices and the SOLIDWORKS professional community, while allowing participants to see PLM principles applied to an automotive engineering project.
Because this session takes place during the regular Master’s class, only 10 places are available for external in-person attendees.
Everyone is welcome to join virtually.
