SWUGN Mansoura Session – Damietta University

Mar 17, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (UTC)

Mansoura SOLIDWORKS User Group

On 17 March 2026, SWUGN Mansoura organized the second session of the SOLIDWORKS technical learning series at Hall 108, Faculty of Engineering, Damietta University.

This session focused on understanding Material Properties and their importance in engineering analysis and simulation. Participants were introduced to key concepts related to material behavior and how different materials respond to applied loads.

The session also covered important topics from Strength of Materials, including bending stress and bending moment, helping students understand how forces affect structural components. To enhance the learning experience, attendees were given a practical problem from Strength of Materials and first solved it analytically by hand.

After completing the theoretical solution, participants applied the same problem using SOLIDWORKS Simulation, allowing them to compare the analytical results with the simulation results. This approach helped students better understand how engineering theory connects with modern simulation tools used in real-world design and analysis.

The session aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of both engineering fundamentals and simulation-based validation, providing them with practical insight into how engineers verify and optimize designs using digital tools.
