Structural Design in SOLIDWORKS: Tools, Profiles, and Best Practices.

This session focuses on building weldments and structural designs in SOLIDWORKS using multi-body parts and structural member tools. We will walk through how to set up models for more efficient workflows and collaboration in a real-time environment.

We will also cover best practices for creating clear, fabrication-ready drawings for structural designs, including common pitfalls to avoid and what shops actually need to see. If you work with weldments or structures and want to improve both your modeling approach and your drawings, this session will provide practical, real-world tips you can apply right away.

The second presenter will be yours truly. I’ve been working on a set of Tips & Tricks that build on each other as I present them. It’s conversational, informative, and fun. I also plan to submit this presentation with fellow SWUG leader Brad “Tank” Meador for 3DEXPERIENCE World 2027. Your support would be appreciated as I refine and tune it up to get it ready.
