Northeast Ohio SOLIDWORKS User Group
Join us as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Northeast Ohio SOLIDWORKS User Group at our Annual Summer Cookout! This milestone event is an opportunity to commemorate two decades of innovation and collaboration within our community. Whether you're a longtime member or a newcomer, this is the perfect chance to network, build relationships, and share your love for design and engineering using SOLIDWORKS.
Our annual cookout will once again be held at the beautiful Brushwood Lodge, in the Furnace Run Metro Park area at 4955 Townsend Rd, Richfield, OH, 44286 on Thursday July 31st. Similar to last year, I will be arriving at the pavilion at Noon to begin setup. The pavilion is ours for the day, so we may as well use it. Come out early to play some corn hole, do a little fishing, or hike the beautiful trails that Furnace Run has to offer. There will be drinks and snacks available early on before we kick off the official event for the evening.
As always, we ask those who attend the event to bring a side to share with everyone. It can be anything that goes well with picnic food. We will provide Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Brats and all the condiments to spruce them up as well as water and soda. The tentative schedule is as follows:
5:30pm : Food is served!
6:15pm : Presentations Begin
Ryan Field - “Nesting with SOLIDWORKS with Cloud Services” - Ryan will go over the nesting capabilities that are part of SOLIDWORKS with Cloud Services as well as some modeling techniques for creating the sheet metal parts.
Alin Vargatu - "Optimizing Imported Models: Fixing Errors for Smoother Large Assembly Performance" - Your large assemblies will thank you for attending this presentation! There are many reasons why models imported from IGES, STEP, or Parasolid files have errors. CAD products used for creating geometry "speak" different languages, and in order to understand each other, they need translators. Whenever you get an extra link in the communication chain, bits of information could be lost, and topological errors could be introduced. Examples: gaps in the body, self-intersecting faces, faces with more than one closed contour, faces that are piercing the solid body. Once the errors are identified they must be repaired, otherwise the consequences can be severe: long opening and saving times for assemblies and drawings containing those components, graphics glitches, rebuild errors and even crashes. We will also show that the tools and techniques used for identifying and fixing import errors can be repurposed for simplifying complex geometry. Your assemblies will thank you!
8:30pm : Giveaways and wrap up
Don't miss out on this joyous occasion to reflect on our achievements, learn from each other, and envision the future of our user group. Bring your enthusiasm and passion for SOLIDWORKS, and let's make this anniversary celebration an unforgettable event! RSVP today and be part of our incredible journey!
