Add Document to BOM

Hello SW Users,

Quick question: how does everyone deal with linking documents or non-visible parts in assemblies/BOMs?

I want to link a drawing "Install Instructions" with its own part number in an assembly so that when I create a BOM of the assembly "Install Instructions" is automatically part of the BOM. Does anyone have a good way to do this besides creating a dummy part that shares the part number?

What we have done in the past is create an empty part file (no geometry, but metadata is there). Then we insert that part into the assembly (mating the front, top, and right side planes to the assembly, so the part doesn't move around and possibly throwing off the bounding box of the assembly).
